An undeniable shift is taking place now from classroom teaching and learning to asynchronous Web-based and Web-supported learning environments. The dissemination of educational content is surely moving from a teacher-to-student model to a technology-enabled interface. As our roles evolve from the "sage on the stage" to the "guide on the side," this shift will be evident in the modes of technology that support the educational interface.
Learning technology and its infusion is coming to a level of maturity that now requires a careful design, development and deployment decision. The development of the "Learning Cube" framework is an attempt to provide a sound pedagogical basis for the quest for effective learning systems. The application of the proposed framework is in the development of an Adaptive Learning System that provides an interface tailored for the individual learning model and intelligent feedback. Each session will help demonstrate the learning models do differ for individual learners and how it is extremely important to provide flexible interfaces that allow dynamic sequencing of the content to meet the demands of individual learners.

The media enhancements help in effective delivery of the content; models help in digesting the given facts and logic to create individual constructs for knowledge, and the interactivity reinforces the concepts by continuous feedback-based refinement.
The effective utilization of the media, models and interactivity can lead to the development of extremely powerful learning environments that are effective, engaging and efficient in promoting the learning process for both on-campus and distance education purposes. The development of changes in the learning interface, pedagogical framework, instructional design, evaluation, optimization and learning technology standards provides a rational and practical approach for designing successful online education.
It is the beginning of educational excellence that is needed and proposed as a methodology in the present case. A successful marriage between technology and pedagogy is finally taking shape in changing the interface of education. This is the desired paradigm shift towards the emergence of much-awaited, adaptive learning systems.
